    Welcome to the website of Drew Schultz. Starting at the age of nineteen, Drew earned his stripes as the drummer, percussionist, archivist, and conductor / musical director of the legendary Motown group The Four Tops. Throughout the years he has performed, produced, recorded, toured, written, and worked with icons including Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Mary Wilson of The Supremes, Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire, George Clinton, The Funk Brothers, Dennis Coffey, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Lenny Pickett of Tower of Power / SNL, The Dramatics, The Miracles, The Contours, Harold Melvin's Bluenotes, Jerry Butler, Chairmen of the Board, Freda Payne, Melvin Davis, Spyder Turner, Pat Lewis, Carolyn Crawford, Joe "Pep" Harris of Undisputed Truth, Questlove of The Roots, Harrison Kennedy, J.J. Barnes, Reginald Torian of The Impressions, James Jamerson Jr., McKinley Jackson, and many more.

   In addition to his work on stage and in the studio, Drew is a published contributor to Modern Drummer Magazine, and runs a Detroit Soul Music website. As a former pre-production engineer for Motown/UMe, Schultz has worked on projects by Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5, David Ruffin & Jimmy Ruffin, Barry White, and more. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance from New York University. Drew teaches privately and records for himself and others in his own studio space,  and is a college instructor of drums, songwriting, and music industry studies at the Detroit Institute of Music Education.
